Meet The Leoni Family
Every Wednesday, they would escape to Lake Como, to Lenno—the village where Arturo grew up—before crossing the shimmering waters to Bellagio. From the very first visit, June fell in love with this enchanting place.
One day, during one of these lake crossings, a boatman casually mentioned that the Hotel Du Lac was for sale. A dream began to take shape. In 1956, the year their first daughter Nadia was born, Arturo and June decided to make their dream come true: they purchased the hotel and the same year they opened it, laying the foundation for a family tradition that would endure for generations.
In 1959, their son Luca was born—the only one of the two siblings who would follow the path of hospitality. By the 1970s, Arturo’s brother Lino had joined them in Bellagio, playing a key role in the hotel’s growth and the family’s ventures.
Then came 1989, a year of new beginnings: Luca married Jane, a British woman and former guest of the hotel. With their union, two families—Leoni and Garnett—became one, strengthening the roots of this story.
Over the years, Luca and Jane welcomed three sons: Daniele, Francesco, and Federico. Today, all three are deeply involved in the family business, managing not only the historic Hotel Du Lac but also Hotel Bellagio, acquired in 2003.
And the story continues: on June 22, 2024, the fourth generation arrived with the birth of Tommaso, Daniele’s son—a new chapter in a legacy of hospitality that began on the shores of Lake Como nearly seventy years ago.
